Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 4 October 2026

Tonta makes synthetic media and can publish it to real audiences under real accounts. This policy sets the lines. It is part of the Terms of Service; breaking it can lead to refusal of a request, removal of content, suspension or termination.

1. Principles

1.1You are responsible for everything you ask the Service to make and everything you publish with it. We screen briefs, references and outputs before spending and before anything is scheduled, using automated checks and human review. Passing a check is not a clearance (see the Terms on intellectual property).

1.2Some limits are absolute, and we do not weigh context, satire or intent against them. Others depend on consent, rights or the claims you make, and we ask for evidence of them.

2. Absolutely prohibited

2.1You may not use the Service to create, upload, request, store or publish:

  • Sexual content involving minors, or any sexualised depiction of a person who appears to be under 18. We block it, and we report it to the relevant authorities.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, real or synthetic, of any person.
  • Deceptive or non-consensual synthetic depictions of real, identifiable people: showing someone saying or doing what they did not, without their documented consent. Public figures are not an exception. We do not decide whether a depiction is satire; we decline.
  • Impersonation of a real person, brand or organisation, including fake endorsements, fake statements, and accounts or content made to look as if they come from someone else.
  • Likeness or voice cloning without the documented consent of the person, and without the attestation described below.
  • Content that harasses, threatens, stalks, doxxes or incites violence against any person or group, or that promotes hatred of people based on protected characteristics.
  • Election and civic deception: content meant to mislead people about how, when or where to vote, who is a candidate, or the result of a vote, or to impersonate an electoral body or official.
  • Content that is illegal where you or your audience are, or that helps others commit a crime, including fraud, scams, and the sale of illegal goods or services.
  • Content that glorifies or instructs on terrorism, self-harm or serious violence.
  • Malware, phishing, spam, platform manipulation, fake engagement, or any use of the Service to deliver unsolicited bulk messages.

3. Intellectual property, likeness and voice

3.1Do not upload or ask us to reproduce anything you do not have the right to use: copyrighted images, footage, music, text or characters; trademarks that do not belong to your brand; or another person's face, voice or likeness. Uploading a reference is a statement that you have the right to use it.

3.2When you upload a face or voice, we ask you to confirm you have the right to use it, and we record that confirmation with a timestamp, your user id and the asset. An unconfirmed reference cannot be used for generation. If a person's consent is withdrawn, tell us at once at [email protected]: we will disable content made from it and hold the evidence.

3.3Our checks flag recognisable third-party marks and characters. Flagging is not blocking, because using your own trademark is normal; where a mark does not belong to your brand, the request may go to review.

3.4Do not use generated music to build a library, catalogue or repository for licensing or distribution to others. Music is licensed for the online and social uses the Service is built for; many model terms exclude film, television and radio.

3.5Report suspected infringement or misuse of a likeness with the report form.

4. Claims, regulated topics and honesty

4.1Do not use the Service to make false or misleading claims about products, services, health, finance or results. Medical, financial and other regulated claims need the regulated compliance mode and your own compliance review, and may require human approval before publishing.

4.2Do not remove or disable the AI disclosure we apply when publishing, or use Outputs in ways meant to hide that they are AI-generated where the law or a platform requires disclosure. See the AI & Content Disclosure Policy.

5. Platform, account and security rules

5.1Follow the rules of each social platform you connect. We publish to your accounts at your direction; an account penalty is not our decision.

5.2Do not: share accounts to evade limits; create multiple accounts to get around the Preview limit, usage caps or enforcement; attempt to bypass moderation, metering, pricing or rate limits; probe, scan or test the security of the Service without our written permission; interfere with the Service or other customers; resell or provide the Service to others as your own product; or scrape it or use it to train or distil a competing model.

5.3Keep API keys, tokens and credentials secret. Agents and integrations you connect act as you.

6. How we enforce this policy

6.1We may refuse or stop a job, block or remove an output, cancel a scheduled post, revoke delivery links, restrict features, suspend a workspace or terminate it. We do not automatically retry a request that a provider or our own gate rejected for policy reasons.

6.2We act proportionately, but we may act immediately for the most serious categories above. We do not automatically suspend a paying customer solely on an automated signal, and we let in-progress paid work finish and settle where we can.

6.3We tell you the reason for an action. Credit already consumed by genuine provider work on a request that breached this policy may remain charged.

6.4We keep a repeat-infringer policy. Customers who repeatedly infringe the rights of others will have their accounts terminated.

6.5Where we are required to, or think it necessary to protect people, we preserve evidence under legal hold and notify the authorities.

7. Reports and appeals

7.1To report content, use the report form or write to [email protected]. We acknowledge every report within 24 hours, and aim to act on a complete copyright notice within 72 hours. Every report and every decision is recorded.

7.2If we block, remove or suspend something, you can appeal by replying to the notice or writing to [email protected]. A person reviews the appeal, where possible someone who did not make the original decision, and we record the outcome.

7.3Questions about this policy: [email protected].

For a copyright, likeness, impersonation or privacy claim about something made or published through Tonta, use the report form. For anything else, write to [email protected].
