Refund & Credits Policy

Last updated 4 October 2026

Refunds are credit, never cash, and there is no first-run guarantee. The risk reversal is the Preview, which you can run before you pay. This policy is part of the Terms of Service and explains how credits, remedies and disputes work.

1. How credits work

1.1Tonta is prepaid. Credits are a balance in US dollars that you spend on jobs. Every job is quoted before it runs. When work starts we reserve what it is expected to cost; when it finishes or fails we release whatever was not used.

1.2There is no free plan and no free trial. A workspace starts on pay-as-you-go and buys credit packs. Subscribing gives a monthly allowance at a lower unit price and more capacity. Prices are in US dollars; amounts shown in naira or other currencies are a convenience, and the amount charged is the one shown at checkout.

1.3Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.

2. When credits expire

  • Subscription credit is granted for each billing period. It does not roll over: it expires at the end of the period.
  • Purchased credit expires 12 months after the date of purchase. It is not tied to a plan, so it stays with you if you subscribe, downgrade or cancel.
  • Promotional credit, including credit we issue as a remedy, has its own expiry date, shown when it is issued.

2.1Expiry dates are shown on the billing page and at checkout, and we send a reminder before a meaningful expiry. Credit is used in this order: subscription credit expiring soonest, then purchased credit expiring soonest, then promotional credit.

3. The Preview: try before you pay

3.1Before buying anything, you can run a Preview on your own brief. It gives you a plan, a storyboard, an itemised price quote and one watermarked, low-resolution shot. It exists so that you can see what you would get and what it would cost before spending money.

3.2A Preview is capped by a small budget per workspace. It cannot be published or downloaded as a finished asset and does not create an asset in your library.

4. Refunds are credit, never cash

4.1Any remedy we issue, whether for a failure on our side or as goodwill, is added to your workspace as credit. There is no route in the Service for a cash refund, and we do not issue one on request.

4.2There is no first-run guarantee. We do not promise a refund or redo because you did not like a delivered piece, because output is generated and varies. If you are unsure whether the Service suits your needs, run a Preview first.

4.3Nothing here limits any right you have under law that cannot be excluded. If the law where you live requires us to refund you in cash in some circumstance, we will do so.

5. When a job fails or comes out wrong

5.1If a job fails or is cancelled, the credit reserved for it is released, so that your balance is as if the job never ran, less the cost of work genuinely performed. If the failure is caused by a fault on our side, the credit that work consumed is also put back automatically, with no claim needed.

5.2If a job fails or is stopped after real provider work has been performed because of something on your side, such as input that breaches our policies, the cost of that work may remain charged.

5.3If something went wrong and you think a remedy is due, write to [email protected] with the job reference. Support may add credit as goodwill at its discretion.

6. Subscriptions and renewals

6.1Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. The renewal price is shown before you subscribe and before any discounted first period ends. New workspaces may get a discount on their first billing period; it is a discount, not a free period.

6.2You can cancel in your billing settings at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and your workspace then continues on pay-as-you-go. We do not pay out a cash refund for the unused part of a period. Where a change between plans gives rise to an adjustment, it is applied as credit.

6.3If a payment fails, generation pauses after a short grace period. Nothing is deleted during the grace period, and scheduled posts pause rather than being cancelled. After that, your account becomes read-only and your library stays available to download for 60 days.

7. Disputes and chargebacks

7.1You can dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer, and the payment processor will act on the dispute whatever this policy says. While a dispute is open, your workspace is placed on hold; we may restrict generation and publishing, reverse credit issued against the disputed payment, and give the processor the records it asks for. A dispute is resolved by the bank's process, which we do not control.

7.2A chargeback also takes back cash we have already spent on the work you received, so we would much rather solve a problem directly. Write to [email protected] first, and we will look at it promptly.

8. Contact

8.1Billing questions: [email protected]. General support: [email protected].
